Penelope Skinner
Penelope skinner is a British playwright. The first play she produced was 'Fucked' in 2008 and was performed at the Old Red Lion Theatre and at the Edinburgh Festival. After 'Fucked' her plays had become massive hits. She has also had plays performed at the Royal Court Theatre.
Skinner is 39 and before becoming a writer she wanted to be an actress but money stopped her as she felt it was a set back. She feels for the beauty industry because she is a feminist and feels for women in the things they have to go through. She feels as if the beauty industry is confusing with its talks about female empowerment, she states “That’s a central dilemma in Linda: to what extent are we making women feel better about themselves, and to what extent are we selling them something?” . This refers to Linda, this makes me think that maybe she has some issues with the beauty industry
