Contemporary Lesson 4

Today in contemporary we worked with our groups, me and Tahj, to further the success of our scenes from Linda. Today we added Actions to our scripts, such as 'To confront' and things such as that. We had to make sure they were things we could act out. This was a difficult task to do as I got confused with my Miss Julie work and started doing objectives instead of actions so I had to work back and change it. We then went through our scenes just saying our action and then adding the action and line. Then just the line. For next week I need to have learned my lines and to have had another practice with Tahj to improve our scene. We both decided that our characters would be confrontational but we don't want to get stuck into that way, so we want to experiment.

Contemporary lesson 3

For contemporary lesson 3 we all performed our presentations. For my groups presentation we: As much as we enjoyed our presentation and were happy with what we performed it turns out that we hadn't made our presentation informative. This was due to the face that my group didn't know that we needed to use facts and we were just using our opinions to answer the questions. This was disappointing to find out, but now we know for future presentations that we need to be as informative as possible. Below is a example of the ways we thought we should answer the questions:

Contemporary lesson 1

Peanut exercise For the peanut exercise we all had a handful of peanuts. From this handful of peanuts we had to pick our best one, the reason why wasn't important, the amount of flavour it was coated in the shape or anything like that. This peanut was then sectioned away from the others. We then had to find our least liked peanut, maybe because it had an odd shape or something. We then compared the two and we are the less liked one at first and we spoke about it. Most people said it wasn't very nice. The reason because of this is because we had set our expectations low for the peanut. Then we had the more enticing peanut, this peanut everybody enjoyed. This was because we had set the bar high for this one  so therefore because we had premeditated it, it then tasted better. Then we compared both and spoke about how we preferred one to the other. We then ate the remainders of the peanuts. we were then told the reason for the exercise. We were told that it was because everyone i...

Contempory Lesson 2

Today in lesson we spoke about how the comedy is that the truth is the tragic part of Linda. We also spoke about the relationships in Linda: Dave and Linda relationship in scene 5 was that Dave objective to manipulate Linda and, that Linda wants to keep on top of the business and her ambition. Neil and Linda's relationship is that Neil wants to be important/ the hero. Where as Linda wants mutual respect and teamwork, and for Neil has understand he's just cheated and hurt her and she wants him to understand the consequences of what he's done. We then also learnt that Linda in Spanish mean Pretty this could then lead to the answer as to why Skinner named the play Linda and called the character Linda, this could be a metaphor and therefore ties nicely into the play.  I also got my scene partner for my Linda duologue, page 124-129, with Tahj.
